Regional framework agreement signed by Uni Global Union and Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU)

UNI Global Union has signed a regional agreement with the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU), an association of national television and radio broadcasters and other key players in the media industry. ABU currently has 200 members in 57 countries. The two organizations penned a memorandum of understanding on 2 April 2012. They have committed to a joint action programme to ensure sustainable development in the broadcasting sector, and to improve general cooperation. During the pandemic these commitments were translated into joint seminars held in 2021 on the topics of health and safety of media workers during the ongoing pandemic, mental health and gender issues.
