African-Union

The African Union (AU) is an international organization, composed of 55 Member States from the African continent. The AU aims to achieve greater unity and solidarity among African countries and peoples, as well as accelerate the political and socio-economic integration of the continent.

In this context, the AU’s Economic, Social and Cultural Council (ECOSOCC) acts as an advisory body designed to give civil society organizations a voice in the organization’s institutions and decision-making processes. ECOSOCC is made up of civil society organizations from a wide range of sectors, including trade unions, business and professional groups, inter alia.
