“A small joint working party was set up including representatives from the UEWC, Unilever HR managers and Unilever legal experts. This working party has now examined in detail the Unilever policy on the Protection of Personal Data and is fully satisfied that the Policy complies with both the European Directive and the local (National) legislation in all of the EU countries.The attached document briefly describes the activities of this working party and includes the evidence obtained in support of the above conclusions.”

“The Unilever policy and its implementation will be the responsibility of national managers but in each country a Data Protection Officer will be appointed and made responsible for the maintenance of the integrity and use of the database at national level.
The Unilever Audit team as part of their normal practice will also audit the process and management have agreed to report back to the EUWC the outcome of any such audits as and when they take place.”
